As is always the case in autumn, we're getting a lot of calls and emails from nonprofits eager to jumpstart their online projects before the end of the year. This is the moment that defines our schedule at new media for nonprofits for the next several months and so I'm always intrigued to find out what sorts of online projects nonprofits are committing to and to learn about the many ways in which nonprofits need new media to work for them. Exciting projects come up every season. This past summer we were fortunate to partner with some terrific nonprofit organizations including the Consortium for Chicago School Research, the Campaign to End the Death Penalty and the North Lawndale Employment Network (one of only nine nonprofits in the world awarded the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation's newly minted "Creative and Effective Institutions" award). I hope you'll read on to learn more about each project and other new media news. And please - get in touch - we can't wait to hear what's on your mind this fall.

| Consortium on Chicago School Research (CCSR) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
More than five years ago we helped CCSR create a web site that carried them well into the new millenium. This year, we once again partnered with CCSR to create a web site that brings their online presence into concert with their newly conceived logo and print identity. Behind the scenes, CCSR controls every aspect of their web content through a custom content management system built by new media for nonprofits. Just launched last week, we're proud to introduce (....drumroll....) the new and improved (....drumroll....) CCSR web site!

| North Lawndale Employment Network (NLEN) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
When NLEN became one of nine nonprofits in the world to receive the new "Creative and Effective Institutions" award from the MacArthur Foundation, they called us for help. Knowing that the organization would be getting attention from the media, donors and potential clients, they wanted a quick face-lift for their web site. We updated the site's design and reorganized the way site visitors learn about the organization, showcasing NLEN's client success stories and programmatic accomplishments. Check it out - it's a winner!

| Campaign to End the Death Penalty (CEDP) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
CEDP came to us faced with a challenge that many web savvy and active organization's have: web site maintenance. An almost entirely volunteer organization, CEDP's go-to person for site updates was a volunteer who could no longer help with site up-keep. So we put together a back-end that allows CEDP to post important updates with just a few clicks of the mouse. We also spruced up the front-end, making the site easier to navigate and more engaging to read. CEDP loves their new site, and we do too! |
